Marjorie Lucille West, age 4 - This is the picture
the Pittsburgh Post Gazette had made from a proof, tinted and beautifully framed for my
Mother after Marjorie's disappearance. Her dress was aqua and is the same dress she wore
that fateful day. Note the lace on the collar. |

Melanie Elizabeth Francis - My daughter, age 1 yrs 10
mos. Mother started taking care of Melanie when she was 4 yrs 5 mos so I could go to work.
Mrs. Saxman, who lived next door, and other neighbors told me they got goose bumps seeing
Melanie play on Mother's porch and front yard; it was as though Marjorie had come back.
Marjorie was 4 yrs 11 mos when she disappeared. (The Millers didn't move into the Saxman
house until the mid 50's.) Melanie remembers Mrs. Saxman well. |

Dorothea (shortly after my sister's disappearance) at
Carl Groll's camp, White Gravel. My coat was navy blue, the collar was edged in white. The
coat Marjorie was wearing that fateful day was identical to mine except the collar was
edged in pink. The men in the picture were looking for Marjorie. Note the Bradford
Citizens' Committee Chairman, Carl A. Groll on the $2,000 reward notice. Mr. Groll was a
